Pramp alternatives (2026): what happened to Pramp and where to practise mock interviews now
Quick answer: Pramp still exists in name, but its peer mock interviews now run on Aced Practice. Pramp’s own home page says that since July 2024 all new Pramp sessions are hosted there, and Aced describes itself as “formerly Exponent”, so “Pramp by Exponent” is now Aced. It is still free to start: the Basic plan includes 5 peer mocks a month, and unlimited mocks cost 79 $ a month or 12 $ a month billed annually (checked 26 October 2026). Other options with published prices: interviewing.io (anonymous mocks with senior engineers from 179 $, plus a free AI interviewer), LeetCode Premium’s timed interview simulations (39 $ a month), and Big Interview or Yoodli for behavioral rounds.
What happened to Pramp
Pramp was a free, peer-to-peer platform: you were matched with another candidate and you took turns interviewing each other. Here is what the companies’ own pages said on 26 October 2026:
- pramp.com now carries a “by Aced” label and a banner: “As of July 2024, all new Pramp sessions are hosted on Aced Practice. It’s still free and even better.” Its sign-up buttons lead to aced.io/practice, and its footer reads “© Exponent Labs, LLC”.
- aced.io calls itself “Aced (formerly Exponent)”, and its practice FAQ answers former users directly: “Pramp is now Aced (formerly Exponent).” You can book the same types of mock interview, but you need an Aced account, and there is a link to connect your old Pramp account.
- tryexponent.com addresses redirect to aced.io; for example tryexponent.com/practice lands on aced.io/practice.
So when people search for “Pramp” or “Pramp by Exponent” in 2026, the product they are looking for is Aced Practice. We did not find the date Exponent took over Pramp on either company’s pages, so we do not quote one.

Aced Practice: the Pramp you remember, on a new site
The format has barely changed. Sessions run at pre-scheduled times every day; you can book in advance or join in the ten minutes before a session starts. Aced matches you with a peer by availability, role, experience level and interview history, supplies the questions and, for technical interviews, hints, test cases and the solution. A session lasts about an hour, roughly 30 minutes each, in a video call with a shared code editor. Data structures and algorithms sessions start every two hours between 8 AM and midnight local time; system design, behavioral and product sessions run four times a day on a Pacific-time schedule.
What is new is the pricing around it. Free users get monthly credits (5 peer mocks a month on the Basic plan); Pro removes the limit and adds Aced’s courses, video solutions and question database; Expert AI adds AI mock interviews and AI feedback. AI transcripts and grading of your peer sessions are for paid members only. Aced’s pricing FAQ says memberships renew automatically and offers full refunds within 5 days of purchase. Mobile devices are not supported. If you have a friend to practise with, there is also a “practice with a friend” option, so you skip the random match.
1. interviewing.io: senior engineers, anonymous
If what you liked about Pramp was a realistic technical interview, interviewing.io is the paid step up. Its interviewers are senior, staff or principal engineers and managers who make hiring decisions, sessions are anonymous with audio and chat but no video, and each ends with a written rundown. Its FAQ says interviews start at 179 $, varying by subject and by whether you want an interviewer from a specific company, and that it will refund you if you are unhappy. There is also a free AI Interviewer for coding and system design, which is the closest free stand-in for a practice partner who is always available.
2. LeetCode Premium: timed simulations, no partner
Pramp’s value was partly the clock and the pressure. LeetCode Premium’s “Interview Simulations” give you a timed, company-style question set without another person; Premium is 39 $ billed monthly or 299 $ billed annually. It trains speed and pattern recognition but not explaining your reasoning out loud, which is where most candidates lose points: see LeetCode in a real interview for the difference.
3. Big Interview and Yoodli: for behavioral rounds
Pramp’s behavioral sessions depended on your partner’s effort. Two tools give more structure. Big Interview is 39 $ a month, 99 $ for 3 months or 299 $ for lifetime access, with a 30-day refund and a free course. Yoodli’s free Starter plan gives up to 5 roleplays in total, and its paid plans are 8 $ or 20 $ a month billed annually. Use them with our guide to the STAR method.
4. A note on lists that are out of date
Many “Pramp alternatives” lists still recommend Hello Interview for mock interviews. Hello Interview’s own page says it wound down its mock interview and mentorship programs on 31 May 2026; its Premium content and guided practice continue. Google Interview Warmup, another common entry, also no longer loads: see what happened to Google Interview Warmup.
5. Interview Copilot: not a trainer, a helper for the live call
This is ours, so read it with that in mind. Interview Copilot is not a Pramp alternative in the strict sense: it has no mock interviews, no peers and no question bank. It is a desktop app for macOS, Windows and Linux (beta) that works during your real interview: it listens to the call audio, not your microphone, and shows a suggested answer when the interviewer finishes the question. Coding tasks are solved from a screenshot, and system design has its own hotkey. Mock interviews build the skill; we help on the day. The two fit together rather than compete. It costs 25 $ for 30 days, paid once, with no auto-renewal; the free tier is 5 minutes of live recognition and 3 screenshot solutions, no card. Check each interview’s rules on AI help before using it. What the free tier includes.
Where Interview Copilot is weaker
- No practice at all. No peer, no mock interviewer, no feedback on how you explain your code: everything Pramp was for.
- No question bank or courses, unlike Aced Pro or LeetCode Premium.
- A short free tier. 5 minutes is enough to test transcription, not to prepare.
- Payments are final, so try the free tier first.
- Linux is a beta.
How we checked
For Pramp we read pramp.com, Aced’s practice page and FAQ, and its pricing page on 26 October 2026, and followed tryexponent.com addresses to see where they redirect. For the other services we read each vendor’s own pricing or FAQ page the same day, quoting only figures printed there. We did not book paid sessions or rate interviewers, and we make a product in a neighbouring category. For a checklist that applies to any AI interview tool, see how to choose an AI interview assistant.
Which one to pick
Start free: book two or three Aced Practice sessions a month and try interviewing.io’s AI Interviewer between them. Pay for interviewing.io when a specific company’s onsite is close and you want a senior engineer’s honest read. Use LeetCode’s simulations for speed, and Big Interview or Yoodli if behavioral rounds are your weak spot. Build the plan around the round types you will face, using our technical interview preparation plan and the system design framework.

FAQ
What happened to Pramp?
Its peer mock interviews moved to Aced Practice. Pramp's home page says that since July 2024 all new Pramp sessions are hosted on Aced Practice, and Aced's FAQ says "Pramp is now Aced (formerly Exponent)".
Is Pramp still free?
Yes, with a monthly limit. On 26 October 2026 the free Basic plan on Aced included 5 peer mock interviews a month. Unlimited peer mocks come with Pro at 79 $ a month, or 12 $ a month billed annually.
Is Pramp the same as Exponent?
Pramp's footer reads "Exponent Labs, LLC", and Exponent now calls itself Aced. tryexponent.com addresses redirect to aced.io, so Pramp, Exponent and Aced now point to the same product.
Do I need a new account to use Pramp?
Yes. Aced's FAQ says you need an Aced account to book the same types of mock interview, and it gives a link to connect your old Pramp account.
What is the best free alternative to Pramp?
Aced Practice itself, the successor to Pramp, at 5 peer mocks a month. Between sessions, interviewing.io's free AI Interviewer covers coding and system design, and Yoodli's free plan covers a few spoken roleplays.
Does Hello Interview still offer mock interviews?
No. Its own page says it wound down mock interviews and mentorship on 31 May 2026. Its Premium content and guided practice continue.
Is Interview Copilot a Pramp alternative?
Not for practice. Pramp and Aced train you before the interview with mock sessions. Interview Copilot is a desktop app that helps during the real call by showing a suggested answer, so the two fit together. Check each interview's rules on AI help.
